Theological Convictions

We believe in the following core Doctrines:

  1. The Trinity: God is three persons in one Infinite God–Father, Son, and Holy Spirit
  2. The full deity and humanity of Christ: Jesus is fully human and fully divine and has existed eternally.
  3. The spiritual lostness of the human race: people are inevitably fallen into sin and incapable of saving themselves or by themselves being reconciled to God.
  4. The substitutionary atonement and bodily resurrection of Christ: Jesus pays fully for the sin of people who are reconciled to God through him by faith through his death on the cross. He rose from the dead after three days and was witnessed by hundreds of people and ascended into heaven where he ministers at the right hand of God the Father.
  5. Salvation is by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone: no one can be reconciled to the Father apart from the saving work of Jesus, which is offered as a free gift of God’s grace, and which is received through faith in him.
  6. The physical return of Christ: Jesus will return at a time unknown to judge the earth and restore the kingdom of God.
  7. The authority and inerrancy of Scripture as the basis for Christian life and practice: there is no other authority than the Bible for our understanding of God and the Christian life. Tradition and other writings of godly people are beneficial only in as much as they are faithful to the word of God in the Bible. We are firm where the Bible is firm and strive cautiously to be gracious and flexible where the Bible permits.
